Who took my wee little boy?

Luke looks like he's five years old to me in this picture, maybe it's because you can't see his fine baby like, turkey tail hair.

He's reading the story to me here. I love it.

Luke and I had a little food coloring fight, you can see how well it went.

He was so excited to have dad and him wearing his hats, sitting on the couch, watching t.v., and eating popcorn.

Luke says to me, "mom, ride Lidy (Hildie) like a horse!" Hildie's worst nightmare comes true.

I definitely have skills...

When it comes to picking the wrong checkout line, that is. Wow! It's uncanny how good I am at it. I'm in Sam's Club in the UC and scanning each line, you know, how much "stuff" is in everyone's carts, how old the person is (is that bad?), and I finally make my choice and make my move. (I'm trying to make this a quick in and out stop, first mistake eh?) It's like a chess game in my head and the line next to me makes a move and all of a sudden I'm thinking "crap! I picked the wrong line." So I make the jump. Bad idear. Just seconds after making the move, they open two more lines in the other direction from the way that I moved. People are just swarming to those newly opened lines, so I stay put thinking that this line will still be pretty quick, because the guy in front of me has two items and the lady in front of him is almost done. Dead wrong again! Said lady orders a (sing it with me) PRICE CHECK. For the love of all that's good and holy lady. I'm watching people that were behind me in other lines or that just barely got in line complete their purchasing process and start heading for the door. The blood pressure is rising. Now here's the tricky part. I'm thinking in my head, do I dare move again? Would that be socially unacceptable and completely OCD on my part? I know one move is fine, but two? So I stay put and am just itching in my own skin to move to the other line next to me. I really am thinking that if I move again, people will notice and be thinking "sheesh lady, calm down already!" Is that just insane or what? As all this is going through my head, the guy in front of me turns around and says "I should've warned you that it's dangerous to get behind me." To which I reply "well I do just fine on my own, so I guess we're both bad luck." So there we both sit, not daring to move to another line because sure enough as soon as we do, the computer breaks down in the line you just moved to. Morale of the story, don't ever assume that a trip to Sam's can be short. It's impossible.

Happy Birthday Dad!

He would've been 75 today! I can't believe it's been 5 years since he passed away. He was a better dad than I ever gave him credit for while he was alive. Maybe that's true for all of us, but then again, maybe it's just me. :) Anyway, happy birthday dad! I miss you.

Let it snow!

Doing a little shoveling...with a hoe, because his shovel was buried in the snow and this was all I could find. Nay bother.

"Big one mom."

And the potty talk continues...

and I'm really sorry, but it's just funny sometimes. So about an hour ago I farted right next to Luke (shocking, I know) but it was an SBD kind (co-workers are all too familiar with that one I'm afraid). Luke is sitting on the computer chair and within a few seconds of being enveloped by the awful stench he says "momma need change diper!" Okay, I almost fell on the floor laughing. Guess I can't blame those on him anymore! My cover is blown.

Some firsts worth mentioning

1. First real snow that actually stayed on the ground. I love it. I hope we have a white Christmas.
2. First time Luke peed on the toilet. He actually told me he was going to go "potty in baffroom" to which I thought nothing of it. He then returned and told me the door was closed, so I followed him, opened the door, he said he wanted to take his pants off and diaper and the rest is history. He's done it one more time since. We'll see if that continues, I doubt it.
3. First penis conversation with Luke. Oh boy, here we go. (I hesitate to even use that word on the internet, but it is what it is right? I'll refer to it as p from now on.) Luke and I are in the bathtub together and he see's his p and says "Luke's p, mom have p?" To which I replied, "nope, mom is a girl, I don't have a p" and so the conversation went as we talked about different people that Luke knows and if they have a p or not. :) I'm thinking that this is going to turn into public conversation, probably when all the family is around, now that's we've talked about it. He kept saying for the next few minutes "Luke have p, (starts shaking head) mom have p" as if to say mom doesn't have a p. Let the good times roll.

Yamahama it's fright night

As promised. Here are the pictures. Right after I got it cut my nephew Kyle kept telling me that I looked like a boy. He's nine so what do you expect, but kids all too often speak the harsh truth some times.

Here's the left side that she totally botched. Check out that chin, I could poke someone's eye out with that thing if I'm not careful. Okay you're right, the nose could too.

The right side, better but still doesn't look great. (Never mind what Luke is doing!)

This might be as good as it gets. Our happy family Thanksgiving picture.
