So as of late Luke has become fascinated with Sesame Street. It's on when he wakes up from his nap and it keeps him from being grumpy, so we watch it. But I have realized how crazy funny Sesame Street is. It's amazing the celebrities they have on and the parody's they come up with. Like Dancing with Triangles, which was hilarious by the way. Today they had Annie get your Gumbo on. I think one of my favorite ones though (which is not a parody) is Suzie singing "Somebody Come & Play" it just cracks me up the way she sings it. I smile every time. Yah I can't figure out how to embed a video file either (Nicole), unless it's You Tube.
Anyway, as I was searching for the Suzie video I came upon some old time Sesame Street that brought back some fond memories. Did anyone out there have the Sesame Street Disco record? Well I sure did and I even remember opening it on my birthday and I think I was even wearing a Sesame Street t-shirt at the time. As luck would have it, I found Cookie Monster singing "Me Lost Me Cookie at the Disco" which was on my record. April, I know you remember dancing to this one, I probably pulled a groin muscle then too. If you've got the time, it is a bit long...but worth all the memories.
And this is the pure excitement my life is filled with these days. How did I ever grow up in a small town?
p.s. Speaking of small towns, a little bit of a side note here. Can someone please explain to me why it's so hilarious to teenagers to wave to people they don't know? They honk and wave and laugh gleefully as they do it. I remember doing it. But I do also remember that we upgraded as we got older to honking at someone and then we would all wave the opposite direction. That's gotta make 'em feel good eh? Yah, the rebels we were. We'd cruise around in our small town in a friends huge 1960's caprice (or something like that, correct me if I'm wrong Shea.) Anyway, it's just funny to me high school kids are still doing it, what's the mental age anyway of a high school er?

I love semsame street and always will. When I hear the opening song I get the best, happy feeling. Oh.. to be young again!! My favorite song was the counting one, you know the 1,2,3,4,ect. ect. or ladybug 12 at the ladybug picnic. Anywho. Thanks for the memories. All my kids are all too old for Sesame Street. Journey insist that it is for babies. What a little stinker that one is. Your never too oid for some Seseame Street.
that is a good one. I never thought about honking and then waving in the other direction. I guess i missed out in high school. I know my kids like to play sweet and sour and it drives me crazy. They will wave at someone and if they wave back, they are sweet and they laugh but if they don't then they are sour. And they still laugh, hey who knows cheap entertainment.
I was going to mention that, we start doing this waving game when we are pre-pubescent and it is still funny in high school! Yah, I think it will drive me crazy too when Luke starts doing it.
Sandra, Ty was watching with me. When it would finish he would say "again mommy again" I loved sesame street. I don't know why I have never thought to turn it on for him.
Are you talking about Paige's Dukes of Hazard car? That green thing? It was a classic. Chelle also had some great old cars. I swear I remember listening to this record at your house! Remember you, Jenny and I would dress up in your dress up clothes and jump on the trampoline? You had those great white go go boots, we all wanted to wear. I remember also yelling at people a lot from our cars. We thought that was HILARIOUS.
I was thinking of Steve Veale's with the cow horns on the front, that big red thing. I remember driving around in there with him, Jim Bob, probably Clayton and I thought you and Daniella were too. But Paige's was a classic as well. I loved those go-go boots, I really need to find out if my mom still has those and snag them from her. Do you remember dancing for the old folks too? They loved us.
Yes I do remember Steve's car with the horns. Good times. Dancing for the old folks!? For shame!
