Is it "off the wagon" or "on the wagon"

Or is it actually "on the band-wagon?" I'm not a recovering alcoholic, so maybe band-wagon is what I'm looking for. I always struggle to get cliche's right. But I've done it, not sure why I've been resisting for so long, but through much persuasion of some friends I've now created my own blog. With my background in the web world one would think I would jump at the chance...but I guess you could say I tend to resist "the band-wagon" as long as possible. Not a characteristic that's endearing or even always practical, but nevertheless, I choose to resist!
