First miracle - Ethan slept for nine and a half hours without even a peep! From 6:30 pm to 4:00 am, it was unreal. Of course the injustice of it all is that I of course wake up at 2:00 am in a bit of a panic and in some serious pain. Of course I go in and check on him, knowing that I won't be able to sleep until I do. He's fine, breathing normally...so then I still lay there willing him to wake up because it hurts too much to fall asleep at this point. Finally after 20 minutes or so of agony I decide that now is a great time to pump and build up my "freedom" supply. It's 2:30 am. That went swimmingly and after only 10 minutes of pumping I had 4 ounces. Not bad for me. I guess I should clarify that he wasn't up for the day at 4:00 am, he went back to sleep until 6:30 am.
Second miracle - First lets back up to last month when Luke started eating his boogers. Which makes me throw up in my mouth every time I catch him doing it. I asked where he learned it from and he told me that Kaleb (his bff that he plays with everyday) does it. (Note: Kaleb doesn't eat his boogers and never has.) At first I was telling him how disgusting it was, but he seemed to like my reaction, and would giggle at my disgust, so I stopped doing that and ignored it. But I did ask him one day why he liked to eat them and he looks at me and with a mischievous twinkle in his eye and says, "because they are minty!" Lucky for him, I guess.
Now fast forward to yesterday while we are eating lunch. Luke says to me, "So why do you think that Kaleb doesn't like to eat his boogers anymore?" I said, "I don't know...maybe because it's gross." He nods his head and in his very distinct Luke manner of shaking his head says, "yah, I'm not going to eat my boogers anymore either." Sweet! I gave lots of encouragement for making such a great decision. We'll see, but it felt like a miracle to me.
